PSAT test

PSAT

The PSAT is the preliminary test that provides valuable experience and practice for the SAT. It is shorter than the SAT, consisting of two section scores –Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Math – with a score range of 160-760 each. There is no essay section.

The PSAT 8/9 can be administered in Freshman and Sophomore year of high school as true practice for the SAT, meaning the scores are not reported to colleges and do not qualify for the National Merit Scholarship. The PSAT/NMSQT taken in Junior and Senior year of high school, however, does qualify for scholarships and can be saved for college records.

CollegeWorks helps prepare our students for the demands of the PSAT. Our tutors work on a range of skills with freshmen, sophomores and juniors who wish to take the test. The program trains students on a range of test-taking strategies, including time-management skills, academic skills, and knowledge of test content. Our PSAT test prep tutoring approach integrates individualized instruction from highly trained tutors with exam practice to comprehensively prepare high school students for the real tests. We strongly encourage all of our high school students to make time in their schedules for PSAT tutoring.
